Transpersonal Arts in Therapy Training Entry Requirements
Minimum entry age is 24 years old.
Candidates should hold a first degree and have completed the Tobias Transpersonal Arts Course or its equivalent elsewhere. In cases where candidates have alternative qualifications, a substantial and developing experience in art will be expected. In such cases where no first degree has been obtained, each application will be considered individually. In all cases candidates will be expected to produce a folio of their recent artwork. This will form one of the elements of selection.
Evidence of a good command of written and spoken English is required. Where English is not the applicant's first language, they should have ideally achieved an overall score of 6.5 in IELTS or 580 in TOEFL (237 in the computerised system or 92 in the Internet-based test).
A completed application with medical form.
For non-European applicants they will also need to satisfy the UK Borders Agency Visa requirements.
See www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk for details.
Selection Procedures
In addition to the above, where possible, candidates are encouraged to participate in an Introduction/Assessment Course. Here students are introduced to the core model of the programme and given details on all aspects of the training. The course is thus an opportunity for mutual assessment where applicants can make an informed decision about the training and to be evaluated on their artistic, interpersonal and academic abilities. As preparation for the Introduction/Assessment weekend candidates are required to write a 1,500 word autobiography, where their command of English is evaluated, and their ability to be reflexive is considered as aspects of personal maturity.
Admission and attendance on this weekend does not guarantee admission to the training programme.
If applicants are unable to attend this course then other agreed arrangements are made to consider the applicant’s suitability. Please contact the office for details.
The School reserves the right to decline an application.
