The Fool’s Path: Anxiety, Fear and the Unknown - CPD.

Anxiety and fear surface when we approach our uncertainties, the unfamiliar and the unknown. These emotions are important for both therapist and client in the therapeutic encounter since they represent a threshold between the known and unknown. The archetype of the Fool offers a valuable way of making sense of these experiences. The Fool allows us to consider fear and anxiety in ourselves and our clients with playfulness, curiosity and innocence. In this workshop we will use an experiential and participatory approach to explore anxiety and fear. A combination of discussions, case studies and art exercises will enable participants to explore their own fear and anxieties as well as different ways of working with clients.
Led by Juan Korkie (Senior Lecturer & Clinical Psychologist) and Gill David (Tobias Director of Art and Therapy).

13/14 November 2010
The Planets and Greek Mythology – Experienced through painting, eurythmy and talks.

Our character, career and ways of relating are coloured by planetary influences. Greek mythology highlights which planets have dominated your life phases and which need developing to bring about inner and outer balance.
Led by Diane Flowers, tutor, artist and eurythmy therapist.

12/13 March 2011
Biography: Re-finding the Golden Thread of your Life

By exploring the 7-year phases of life through colour and clay work, lectures and specific exercises will bring us a greater understanding of cosmic and heredity influences. This enables us to understand and integrate past events with the present, and find a renewed connection to the future.
Led by Diane Flowers and Maria Albiez

26/27 March 2011
Painting with Classes 1-6.

This is an opportunity to appreciate and artistically support the young child’s development. We follow the child’s progress from inner soul moods to the world of landscape with its plants, trees and animals. Maybe some painting exercises and form drawing of the planetary signs as inspired by R. Steiner.
Led by Dick Bruin, Class Teacher and co author of 'Painting in Waldorf Education'.

21/22 May 2011
The Unseen Behind the Appearance

Starting from dynamic observation of phenomena in nature, we will move on to developing our imagination, revealing the unseen reality behind the appearance of nature. We will be working with gestures, moods and elemental beings, letting what we encounter with our senses meet with our own vision. We will work with pastels and other supporting media.
Led by Lyle Gold, Tobias Graduate and Painter.

11/12 June 2011
Listening to the Song of Nature

Nature will be our playground! We will meet nature in a contemplative way and work with the ‘here and now’. We will also study land and environmental artists such as Andy Goldsworthy, Richard Long, Chris Drury and others.
Led by Maria Albiez, Sculpture Therapist
